Englisch: This is a 2 player map set in a jungle. A canyon divides the field in pieces. This map was designed for and submitted to the Open Map Competition 3.

It ended second in the Open Map Competition 3 with a score of 84.7%! The download includes the Judges Comments.

Installation: To use the map, look in your „My Documents“ for a folder named „Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour data/Maps“. If this directory doesn’t exist (means you never played a skirmish game), play a skirmish map for a few minutes and comeback. The folder will be automatically created by the game. Extract the COMPLETE Map FOLDER (not just the individual files) included in the map zip file in the „/Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour data/Maps“ folder. Fire up the game and you should be good to go. Look for the map in the Unofficial Maps section.

News from the G.O.A.T:
results. The map I submitted was Jungle Canyon. This is a 2 player map set in the jungle with a canyon dividing most of the battlefield in 2 parts.

This map ended up on the second place of the competition. I’m very happy with this result, especially considering the short time-frame I was forced to make this map in. This was due to some real-life constraints. It was also a close call in the top 2, as the winner only has a 0.6% higher score. This winner is Bhones with his map Temple Mesa. A big congratulations from me to him!

The full judges comments are included in the download of the map, but here are some of the comments:

„pretty pretty! nice rich use of naturally blending textures and props, [looks like a BFME map]. great control of 3-way blends“

„This map is realistic and beautifully done.“

„Absolute beauty. Perfect texture usage and a convincing landspace coupled with mood lighting and rain to pull togething an excellent map.“

„Kudos to whoever put plenty of time and effort to make this map.“

„The map looks really great. An amazing amount of detail coupled with good texturing make this one excellent map. In addition, the maps plays great. Creative layout and good AI performance. Attention to detail is evident, minimal 3-way blends and properly painted “impassable” areas. An excellent map.“

Of course some of the comments were more negative ones, such as the presence of chokepoints. Rest assured that I also take these comments seriously and will keep them in mind when I make new maps.
