Hello Bill! Today on Command & Conquers 15th anniversary you agreed to answer some of our questions. Why don’t you tell us something about you first?

You are the composer of the Command & Conquer Generals soundtrack. Where did you get your inspirations from? How did you get into this kind of work?
I was working at a company called Soundelux at that time and met with the audio director for C+C: Generals through them. We all had a blast working on it. My friend Mikael Sandgren was also working at Soundelux at that time as a composer and we collaborated on the project.
The music of C&C wasn’t the only thing you worked for, you also worked for many other games and movies. What are the fascinating aspects about composing music?
What interests me about composing is finding a musical equivalent to the soul of the project I’m working on.. something that really feels organic to it and brings out a new dimension in the project. When I succeed at that, I’m usually already having a really great time! (sometimes it’s quite a bit of work getting there though!)
Do you think that C&C Generals and Zero Hours music is something unique? Is there anything you won’t be able to find anywhere else?
I think the combination of styles and the sound of the score is unique in that anyone who has played the game would probably be able to recognize the music right away if they heard it somewhere else. The score was really embraced by the gaming community at the time in a wonderful way.
You also worked on other games and movies. Which of your projects was something special to you?
Usually, the project I’m working on currently is my favorite, so it’s always changing.. They all have some special quality of fun memories attached to them.. It’s hard to be more specific, but I will say that Command & Conquer Generals was a really fun one for me
Are you planning a comeback in C&C sometimes?
Not that I know of!
Even today C&C Generals is one of the most played games in the community. What do you think about that?
That’s awesome! I didn’t know that.
Beside from music, what other hobbies do you have?
Not many as I’m writing music most of the time.. I enjoy films, and facebook! I spend most of my time with my family within a very busy schedule.

CSI:NY season 7 and a big game title TBA in 2011!
